Troubleshooter Certificate – INTRODUCTION

STEP [0] – Prerequisite Recommendation

Ideally you will attend a live BPI Critical Thinking or Systematic Problem Solving workshop.  Just contact your organization’s Training Administrator to find out about this option.  But, if a workshop is not available you may begin online as follows:

STEP [1] –  Web-Based Training (WBT)

You or your Training Administrator may contact us to setup your registration for the online course.  Use the You or your Training Administrator use the contact form on this website.  The online course requires 5-6 hours to complete.  It is entitled Systematic Problem Solving and teaches an in-depth understanding of the Problem Inventory, Problem Solving, and Tracking Root Cause processes.  This WBT program includes concept lessons, case study demonstrations, Zoom meeting demonstrations, opportunities to self-test, feedback and exam questions for each module.

STEP [2] –  Analyze Three Current Problems with support from your own Online Coach.

The certification process includes the application of each process to three high priority job-related issues. You will receive feedback and one-on-one expert coaching all the way.  This information exchange will employ a BPI Systematic Problem Solving electronic workbook. The workbook is how your analyze is shared with your coach, sent as an email attachment. Your coach will find and correct any misunderstandings you might have and refine your approach as needed to resolve even the toughest problems, avoiding dead ends, false trails, and taking the direct path to the true cause of problems.


In the Troubleshooter-I Certificate program you will learn to:

* Learn when to group or to separate individual problems.
* Specify the boundaries of any problem.
* Develop high-quality potential causes
*Converge on the Most Likely Cause using Description facts.
* Verify the true cause and stop serial trial and error guessing.
